Malik Knighten

Malik Knighten was born on April 17,1999 in Los Angeles, CA. However his hometown is Charles City, Iowa. At the age 17, Malik was a senior at Charles City High School. In the beginning, Malik main interest was playing football and basketball. His original goal was to play in the NBA like his idol Stephen Curry, but his goal changed during his sophomore year when he gotten grounded. While he was grounded, he used that time to teach himself to play a guitar, and he begin singing. Malik's musical inspirations was Michael Jackson, Shawn Mendes, and Justin Bieber. For a while, Malik main passion was still basketball. During his Junior year, he became more interested in music than he did in basketball. Malik quit the basketball team, so he would have more time to focus on music.  Even though he quit the basketball team, he still supported the team, and he even perform the national anthem at one of the games. Leon Outlaw Jr., the son of a drummer and singer, was born on March 12,2002. He was born in Brookyln, New York. At the age 5, Leon started to show interest in singing and dancing. Leon begin to perform in his living room, at family events, church, school, and anywhere that he could call a stage. Leon was inspire by singers such as Michael Jackson, James Brown, and Sammy Davis Jr.      As musical parents, Leon's mother and father supported him.    Leon's mother had a friend from her church that told her about the casting of a young Michael Jackson for Motown The Musical. Motown The Musical is about a true story that tells how the founder of Motown, Barry Gordy, launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, and many others. Leon Outlaw Jr., Malik Knighten, Chris Louis, Tre'von Waters, and Terence Thomas are five talented and handsome young men. Each of them has many different skills, but two skills that they all share is singing and dancing. One day these gifted young men decided to come together and created the band Next Town Down. When Next Town Down came up with their name they wanted the word "next" in it, so the first band name they thought of was the Boys Next Door. However the name Boy Next Door is already taken, and we all know that Next Town Down is nothing like the Boys Next Door.
